On 25-26 May, 2011 International Tourism Fair was held in Marriott Hotel Yerevan, Armenia.
CTS2011 is an international event focused on the development of regional tourism.The event is organized by the Armenian Association of Travel Agents (AATA) and Armenian Chapter of American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) under the patronage of RA Ministry of Economy with the support of the Armenian-German cooperation program (GTZ) and the Union of Armenia Hotels
Travel agencies and tour operators, airlines, hotels and resorts, insurance companies, public and non-governmental organizations, tourism publications, information agencies, educational institutions, restaurants, organizations supporting tourism sector and leading brandy and wine producers participate in the Fair from different country.
The fair is annual and is organized under the slogan "Country of Talking Stones. This year among representatives from 90 countries the Caucasus Tourism Show hosted a travel company from India for the first time. Kristina Sargsyan - an Armenian young lady was also seen with an Indian tourism agency. She is working with them in India after she completed her Hindi studies.Currently she is studying at Delhi University and simultaneously working as a part-timer.
The representatives are quite surprised meeting the interest shown by the visitors of the fair both travel agencies and individuals.
Tourism cooperation between India and Armenia became more active after launching the long expected Yerevan-Delhi direct-flight on April 13, 2010. The flight are operating once a week: on Tuesdays Yerevan-Delhi and on Wednesdays Delhi-Yerevan.
One correction to the information above: The direct flight Yerevan-Delhi has been stopped. It won't be operating before September 2011
