Bollywood back in Armenia


From 26 to 28 of March Armenians had the chance to appear one more time in the magic world of Bollywood. We had the pleasure to invite everybody to enjoy Indian films in the framework of “Bollywood back in Armenia” project.
The screening was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of India to Armenia and Mr. Davit Bejitashvili from Georgia, and took place at Moscow cinema. 
The screening included 3 films:

  • DHOOM 3 Stars: Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan 
  • OMG - Oh My God Stars: Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Mithun Chakraborty 
  • EK THA TIGER Stars: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ranvir Shorey 



The opening ceremony started with the welcome speech of Ms Lusine Toroyan, who on behalf of Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO welcomed all the guests, representatives of the diplomatic core in Armenia, expressed gratitude to the Embassy of India to Armenia for the continuous support and to Mr David Bejitashvili and called upon everyone to enjoy the movies.

Everyone were happy expressing their gratitude for the organization of such kind of event and hoping to see in the future more projects which promote Indian culture to Armenia and vice versa.

IAF meets Critically Acclaimed Filmmaker Mr. Sourabh Sarangi

IAF meets critically acclaimed Filmmaker Mr. Sourabh Sarangi in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by IAF's President Mr. Rananjay Anand, Vice President Mrs. Ruzanna Ashughyan Anand and IAF's National Coordinator, India Mr. Karen Mkrtchyan. The team discussed many topics related to India & Armenia and emphasis was given on how film making can be part of this noble cause in possible future considering Films as strong medium of people-to-people connection in respective countries.



Mr. Sarangi's films have participated in many International Film Festivals across globe and have garnered great applause and winning awards in documentary category. His Film ""CHAR...No Man's Land"" has won "Dubai International Film Festival 2012 " and Film "BILAL" has won "Yamagata International Documentary Festival Japan 2009". Recently Mr. Sarangi participated in "GOLDEN APRICOT Yerevan International Film Festival 2013" in Yerevan.




Both sides underlined the importance of films in mutual development of people-to-people relationship in understanding respective cultures and discussed the possible partnership towards collaborative works.

Embassy of India organized Indian Film Screening in Yerevan

The Embassy of India in Armenia recently held the screening of Indian Documentary and Feature Films.

The goal of this event was to represent the historical diversity of Indian culture through the motion pictures and documentaries. The program of the events consisted of two films each day: one documentary and one feature film.

During the screening days, the invited viewers had the opportunity to discover India by watching Documentary films such as Humsaye - Two Nations, Two Neighbors (audio-Russian), India by Choice (audio-Russian), Incredible India: welcome to Goa, as well as to enjoy modern films of Indian cinematography like Om Shanti Om, Bhool-Bhulaiyaa, We are Family with English subtitles.

The participating viewers expressed their gratitude to the organizers of this event and took with them new impressions and knowledge about the unique culture and civilization of India.
